The Two Covenants

The Covenant is the Ten Commandments.

• Covenant : An agreement between two or more persons to do or not do something specified.

• The first covenant : The promise to keep it was made by the people of Israel. Exodus19:5 "If ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto Me above all people."

• The promise of the people : Exodus19:8 "And all the people answered together, and said, all that the Lord hath spoken we will do." 

• The promise that was made by the people to keep the covenant (Ten Commandments) and obey was ratified by the blood of a animal.

• Exodus 24:8"Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

• The second covenant : The promise was made by Jehovah God . Heb.8:10" For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people." And the covenant is ratified by the blood of Jesus Christ. Luke22:20" He took the cup in like manner after supper, saying this cup is the new covenant in My blood, even that which is poured out for you." 

• The new covenant is the only true covenant that could pardon the sinner transgressions of sins, the blood of Jesus Christ.
